A Kate Eadie silver and moonstone necklace

For sale is this stunning, elegant, necklace by Kate Eadie.  The necklace is set with very good moonstones and mother of pearl. The necklace is unmarked but is unmistakably her work. Similar examples were published in the Studio – see other images for a similar group published in 1917 Vol 70).

Kate Muriel Mason Eadie RMS ARBSA (1878 – 8 November 1945) was a jeweller and craftswoman in Birmingham, England, working in the Arts and Crafts style. In September 1940, she married the Birmingham Pre-Raphaelite painter Sidney Meteyard, who she met when she studied at Birmingham School of Art, having modelled for many of his pictures. They worked together on stained glass. As well as jewellery, she made larger items such as fire screens. In 1915, she was elected an associate of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, She lived at The Malthouse, Evesham Road, Cookhill, Alcester, Warwickshire, with her sisters, and with Meteyard.
