A really interesting small silver cup or chalice. It is not assayed but carries a makers mark for a dolphin or fish – see images. I have not been able to identify the mark but it would be unusual to make a makers punch and only use it once, so there must be other pieces out there, possibly in copper. Based on the design of the piece, it may be a Leicester School of Arts piece, though the mark itself points perhaps to a Newlyn School worker. I am certain it is British and dates to c 1900-1920. A lovely piece to own and research – I have now had my fun with it and admitted defeat!
Condition is very good.
