A superb Wiener Werkstatte tea set comprising teapot, milk jug and sugar. The shape of this set was designed c 1905 by Josef Hoffmann. The stylized leaf pattern to each piece is the design of Eduard Josef Wimmer-Wisgrill. This set dates to c 1908 and the original design drawing can be found in the archives of the Wiener Werkstatte held at the MAC museum in Vienna. Each piece is fully marked for the Wiener Werkstatte with individual workers mark Josef Husnik.
This design is rare this set is from an important private collection acquired in the 1970’s. It is in excellent condition and a good gauge of silver
A similar three piece set recently sold at Bonhams which lacked the original sugar, substituted by the bottle holder without glass.
