For sale is this very special Archibald Knox for Liberty & Co silver milk jug set with lapis stone. The bowl is pierced to create a strong celtic design. The only other known example of this jug forms part of a magnificent tea and coffee set on display in the Victoria and Albert Museum, British Galleries ref M.8:1 to 5-2004.
The jug is of a very heavy gauge of silver, and overall its quality of manufacture suggests it would have been a special order from Liberty. It is a pair to A359, sugar bowl.
An example, without piercing, can be seen on page 199 (held by the Manx Museum, Douglas) of Steve Martin’s book on Knox.
