An Omar Ramsden silver and enamel cherry bowl

Price range: Sold

For sale is this Omar Ramsden silver bowl, the interior base set with a red enamel overlaid with a silver fleur de lis.  The bowl is decorated with repousse  design of cherries (maybe berries) and leaves.  The work is still  crisp and overall the bowl is in excellent original condition. Really a lovely piece.  See A492 in the archive for a very similar example and A610 for a near pair to this bowl.

The bowl is fully assayed and marked for Ramsden as you would expect   Additionally it is marked for 1920 in engraved roman numerals and carries a quite rubbed “Made in England” stamp.   This bowl, and its twin (A610), were both acquired in America and quite possibly were made for the US market in the immediate turmoil after world war I.
